Window Shopping around Beursplein
Author: DJI like to window shop because it’s a good way to check out the latest trends in fashion and at the same time get a good exercise while having fun. My favorite place to shop is around Beursplein where Beurs World Trade Center is located. There are so many shops to even count at Beursplein and a few streets near by. I hardly buy clothes here because the smallest size for the average Dutch woman is too long and a bit big for me. If you ever come to the Netherlands, make sure you stop by the modern city of Rotterdam and do some real shopping and sight seeing.
Here I am standing at the top level of the parkinglot by V&D shop looking down at the shopping area. The Beurs World Trade Center is to the right (not as big as you would have expected).

Ready to shop?

I think this is the best day care center in the city. If I work in this area I would want my children to spend the day here so I can come by and have lunch with them everyday.

Oh yeah, I got my best walking shoes on and ready to hit the shops without spending a penny. Behind me is the front view of Beurs World Trade Center. I told you it’s a small building, not like what you’re used to in the great big USA land.

Pancake House
Author: DJIt has been awhile since I last posted here. I’ve been busy lately and didn’t get a chance to just chill and rant something. What is there to post about today? Well, I went to a pancake house the other day. If you are ever in the Netherlands don’t forget to drop by a pancake house or pancake booth and try a pancake with your favorite toppings. The first time I came here my friends took me to a pancake house in Utrecht. This particular pancake house was right on the canal, a few steps below the streets. My friends thought I should experience the best of the Dutch traditions as much as possible. After the pancake house, it was a trip to Volendam the next day where I ate my first raw herring! That’s another unforgettable moment to write about.

Coffee beans? The Dutch must love their coffee.

Sunset at Fuerte Ventura
Author: DJI’m under the weather again. In an attempt to cheer myself up, I’m browsing through pictures from my previous vacations. My last memorable vacation was in November of 2004 when I spent a couple of weeks in Fuerte Ventura. Armed with only one gig of SanDisk memory card, I was able to captured a few hundred pictures and a few minutes of recorded footage, using my faithful IXUS 400.
Here is a the only clip that I have of the beautiful sunset that took my breath away. It is a pity that I didn’t have my camcorder with me but I wanted to enjoy the vacation and not be too busy trying to tape everything.
