A continuation of a morning drive in Vientiane. My father wanted to go have Lao Coffee at Darn Thadeu. He said that is where he can find the best coffee in Vientiane and used to go there on a regular basis. As we were driving on Thadeu Road, my aunt told me that her husband’s brother won a contract for building the road all the way to where Friendship Bridge International is located at.

It was not a surprise to see there was no shops or restaurants by Thadeu Crossing. Before the Friendship Bridge was constructed, people from both sides of the Mekong would go through Darn Thadeu. Now people have the options of crossing to Thailand via bridge or by ferry boats.

Lao Brewery Company is located on Thadeu Road as you can see. We were in a hurry to go visit my father’s friends near Hospital 103 and to the National Library of Laos so we didn’t make a stop for a tour of Beer Lao company. Maybe next time.

I’m very impressed that Lao Brewer is so modern looking and the roads are so impressive. I’m afraid when I do go back it’d be like, I’m Ban Nork, instead of Kone Nork…lol :)

  2. DJ Says:

We have to visit the place when we go to Laos. I’m sure we’ll stick out like most Lao Nork, lol.
